On Sunday, April 29th, Sarah Haskins proved she is simply the best short distance triathlete in the United States.
With a time of 1:56:55, Sarah Haskins claimed her 4th St. Anthony's Triathlon title, her second consecutive victory of the season, shattered the course record by 50 seconds, and bested her nearest competitor by more than two minutes.
"Sarah Haskins is a rock star!" said Fuji VP of Marketing Karen Bliss. "Breaking the tape in nearly every event she's raced in the past year, she's blowing away the competition. We've got a phenomenal brand ambassador in Sarah, and we couldn't be more proud to have her aboard the D-6."
Fuji teammate & 15-time NCAA All-American swimmer Sara McLarty was predictably first out of the water in 19:10, but Haskins was close at her heels.
The Sarah's built up a solid lead on their D-6's, with Haskins eventually pulling away. Yet Alicia Kaye, 2011's Race to Toyota Cup Series Runner-Up, managed to close in on Haskins about half-way through the 40k bike.
But Sarah took off on the run, and Kaye was no match for the defending champion.
