MARDANI wins a silver

UCI MTB Marathon Series which was a qualifying league for the UCI MTB Marathon World Championship 2014 scheduled to be held in Asia for the first time, was held in Langkawi, Malaysia today.

At the end of the competition, which was held over 81 km (3 laps of 27 km), the following 3 riders obtained the podium places:

Gold- Thomas DIETSCH (France) - Time:4:41:08
Silver- Parviz MARDANI (Iran) - Time:4:48:32
Bronze- Steffen THUM (Germany) - Time:4:50:25

This is the first medal for an Iranian rider in an International MTB Marathon Series in this level. MARDANI With SLM LTD-Fuji has the great chance of participation in the 2014 UCI MTB Marathon World Championship.

After the race today, riders had a fun ride on the JAMBOREE RIDE (OFF-ROAD FUN RIDE). On 29th there will be the registration of the stage races which will commence on the 30th and will end on the 5th of October.

30th Sept 2013 – PROLOGUE TT – EAGLE SQUARE 2.4km
01st Oct 2013 – STAGE 1 – LANGKAWI ROUND ISLAND (XCM) 65km
02nd Oct 2013 – STAGE 2 – EAST TO WEST (XCP) 45km
03rd Oct 2013 – STAGE 3 – LANGKAWI MARATHON (XCM) 3laps of 27km 81km
04th Oct 2013 – STAGE 4 - LANGKAWI GEOPARK (XCO) 90mins 4.5km/lap
05th Oct 2013 – STAGE 5 – ON THE BEACH (XCS) 30mins 1.6km/lap

Parviz Mardani, Faraz Shokri, Mohsen Ramezani Alavi and Farzad Khodayari are the 4 Iranian National Team riders who will represent Iran in this MTB stage race.
Bahran Ali Ghanbari (Team manager) and Farhad Yavarian (Coach) accompany their riders during the race days.
