Cam Dye Wins Philly Tri

This past weekend featured not one, not two, but eleven Fuji victories. We are proud to announce that we now have ten national champions riding Fuji, and Fuji triathlete Cameron Dye won our hometown race - defending his title at the TriRock Philadelphia Triathlon.

Champion System's Matt Brammeier captured his fourth-straight Irish national road title Sunday by out-sprinting three survivors from an original six-man breakaway aboard his SST.

"To repeat as a national champion is such a difficult task, but Matt has done it four years in a row and that's beyond unbelievable," Champion System General Manager Ed Beamon said.

"I gambled all on the sprint, hit out hard with 200 meters to go and never looked back," Brammeier explained. "I got a good jump and won by a good margin."

Teammate Zach Bell, also aboard his SST, captured his first Canadian national road title Saturday by out-sprinting six survivors from an original 12-man breakaway that escaped early in the 180-kilometer race.

"If I can just get my speed rolling and get the power opened wide, it's tough to come around me in the wind," explained Bell of his third victory of the season (Bell earned his second earlier this month at the Tour de Korea). "When I crossed the line, I couldn't believe it. I had to ask myself if this was really happening. I was in a group of guys that were all hungry to win, so this is a pretty big thrill."

NetApp-Endura's Jan Barta not only defended his Czech national time trial title, winning by nearly two minutes aboard his Norcom Straight; but he also earned his first-ever Czech national road title aboard his Altamira SL. The 28-year-old clinched the 199-kilometer race in Dubnica.

"The race wasn't easy for me today. I had thought I could get a result, but I was an individual starter today and had to beat a lot of teams. In the end it was pretty close. Right now, I'm just happy that I'm able to wear the jersey for a whole year - not just in the time trials but in every race," said Barta.

Team Pasta Zara's Inga Cilvinaite won the Lithuania National ITT Championships aboard her D-6 - with an impressive 1:30 victory margin.  Teammate Agne Silinyte won the Lithuanian National Road Championships aboard her Supreme - the biggest victory of the 22-year-old's career. And 19-year-old teammate Ingrid Drexel defended both her Mexican national ITT title, as well as her Mexican national road title. In Drexel's first two years on the pro circuit, she's won her country's ITT and road titles twice.

Team TIBCO's Melanie Spath won her 2nd-consecutive Irish National Road Championship aboard her Supreme. We now have both the men and women's Irish National Road Champion riding Fuji. And teammate Jasmin Glaesser was crowned U23 Canadian ITT Champion aboard her Norcom Straight.
